Dorimar Cruz
Dorimar Cruz is a Latinx actress, writer, cultural advocate, and Executive Producer of Darts Productions. Originally from Bayamón, Puerto Rico, she discovered her passion for the stage at the age of seven and has since dedicated her life to using theater and the arts as tools for cultural exchange and community connection.
Based in Memphis for the past 14 years, Dorimar has blended artistry with leadership and education. She is a Theatre Administrator, Nonprofit Consultant, Promoter, Producer, Actress, and Writer, bringing a unique multidisciplinary approach to her work. She is also the Co-founder and former Executive Director of Cazateatro Bilingual Theatre Group, the first bilingual theatre company in Tennessee.
Dorimar earned a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Theater and Nonprofit Management from the University of Memphis and is a graduate of the Orpheum Theatre Group’s Teaching Artist Training Program (2022). She represents Memphis in the National Folklife Network, uplifting community voices and contributing to national conversations on heritage, tradition, and the transformative power of the arts.
Her leadership and artistic contributions have been recognized with multiple honors, including 40 Under 40 (Memphis Business Journal, 2021), NALAC Leadership Institute Fellow (2021), and Women Who Lead (Memphis Business Journal, 2022).
As Executive Producer of Darts Productions, Dorimar continues to champion projects that amplify diverse voices, celebrate Latino and global cultures, and inspire unity. She is guided by the belief that the arts have the power to unite us and must remain accessible to everyone—regardless of race, language, or social status—because through creativity, we discover both our uniqueness and our shared humanity.
